The 50/50 Roadmap
Feedback analysis gave Superhuman two lists. What the lovers loved: speed, keyboard shortcuts, focus. What held the almost-lovers back: no mobile app first, then integrations, calendaring, attachments, and search.
The trap is to spend the whole roadmap fixing gaps. Do that and the product converges on everyone else's, and the people who loved you stop having a reason to. The opposite trap, only serving the fans, means the score plateaus because nobody new tips over.
So Vohra split it down the middle. Half the roadmap doubled down on what users already loved: pushing response times under 50ms, more shortcuts, automations like Snippets. Half addressed the blockers: mobile, integrations, calendar, attachments.
Key idea
Spend half the roadmap making lovers love you more, and half removing what blocks the almost-lovers. All gap-fixing makes you generic; all fan-service makes you stall.
