Competition: Worry About Yourself
Founders lose sleep over competitors, especially loud ones with press releases and fresh funding. The playbook's correction: 99% of startups die from suicide, not murder. Internal problems, not rivals, are what actually kill companies.
So worry about internal problems: is the product good enough to love, is the team executing, is growth real. If you lose because a competitor out-built you, that's rare and at least honest. Losing because you spent your energy watching them is the common, avoidable version.
Press releases are easier to write than code, and code is easier to write than a great product. Most announced competition never materializes into anything users prefer.
Key idea
99% of startups die from suicide, not murder. Spend the worry budget on your own product and execution, not on competitors' announcements.
