Outreach That Gets Answered

Cold outreach works, but only when it doesn't read like cold outreach. Koomen's test: only send emails that you yourself would be excited to read. Short, specific to the recipient, about their problem, with a clear small ask.

Warm paths beat cold ones. Ask investors, friends, and early customers for introductions. And generate inbound where you can: writing about the problem, demos, and showing up where your buyers already gather all produce conversations that start warmer.

Then follow up relentlessly. Prospects are busy, not uninterested, and silence usually means your email sank in an inbox, not that the answer is no. Most founders quit after one or two touches. Polite persistence over weeks is what separates founders who get meetings from founders who conclude outbound doesn't work.

Only send emails that you yourself would be excited to read.

Key idea

Send emails you'd be excited to receive, prefer warm introductions, and follow up until you get a real yes or a real no. Silence is not an answer.
