The Circles Around Your True Fans
True fans don't exist in isolation. Around the core sits a larger ring of regular fans: people who buy sometimes, show up occasionally, and might graduate inward over time. Kelly estimates this ring can add roughly another 50% to your income without demanding the same intensity of relationship.
The rings feed each other. Regular fans discover you through true fans' evangelism. True fans are recruited from the regular ring, one at a time, by consistent output and direct contact. Your job is to keep material flowing outward and to make the path inward easy: a way to pay you more, own more, get closer.
This is also the practical growth plan: you don't find 1,000 true fans in a batch. You publish, you gather the interested into a channel you own, and you convert a few of them at a time into people who buy everything.
Key idea
True fans sit inside larger rings of casual fans that add income and supply recruits. Build an easy path from the outer rings to the core.
